Before You Begin

The RTT Session

What to Expect During a Rapid Transformational Therapy® Session

What to Expect During a Rapid Transformational Therapy® Session

You may understand what you want to change. You may even understand why you keep doing what you do.

And yet, knowing something intellectually doesn't always mean you can change the pattern.

An RTT session creates a structured space to slow things down, explore what may be influencing a pattern, and work with the beliefs, meanings and emotional responses connected to it.

At Best Life Catalyst, the aim is not simply to talk about the problem.

It is to understand the mind behind the behaviour — and begin creating a different relationship with the thoughts, beliefs and patterns that may be keeping you stuck.

Before Your Session

Your session begins before hypnosis.

We start by establishing what you would like to work on and what you hope to change.

This conversation helps create a clear direction for the session. Depending on what you bring, we may explore:

  • What is happening in your life right now
  • The pattern or behaviour you would like to change
  • How you experience it emotionally
  • What you have already tried
  • What you would like to feel, believe or do differently
  • What you would like your life to look or feel like instead

You do not need to arrive with everything figured out.

You simply need to be willing to explore.

During the Session

Once we have established your focus, you will be guided into a relaxed, focused state of hypnosis.

This is not sleep or unconsciousness. You remain involved in the process and can communicate throughout the session.

From this focused state, the session may involve exploring memories, experiences, beliefs, associations or emotional responses that appear relevant to the pattern you are working on.

The purpose is not to force a particular memory or search for a dramatic event.

Sometimes the connection is obvious.

Sometimes it is more subtle — a repeated message, an interpretation you formed, an expectation you developed, or a way of making sense of yourself or the world that once served a purpose.

The session is about exploring what is relevant to you.

Exploring the Pattern

One of the important questions we may explore is:

“What happened, what did you make it mean, and how might that meaning still be influencing you today?”

The focus is not on blaming your past.

It is about understanding the connection between past experiences, beliefs and present-day responses.

For example, someone who continually struggles to speak up may not simply have a “confidence problem.”

There may be beliefs or emotional associations connected to being judged, making mistakes, being rejected, taking up space or not feeling good enough.

Understanding those connections can create a different starting point for change.

Reframing What No Longer Serves You

Once relevant patterns and beliefs have been explored, the session can move towards reframing.

This means looking at old interpretations from a different perspective and separating what may have been learned from what is actually true or useful for you now.

The goal is not to pretend that difficult experiences did not happen.

It is to recognise that an experience can be real without the meaning attached to it having to govern your future.

We then work towards more intentional, supportive ways of thinking and responding.

Creating New Associations

RTT may incorporate therapeutic techniques and suggestions designed around the specific goal of your session.

Rather than giving you generic affirmations and expecting them to fit, the work is personalised to the patterns and beliefs explored during your session.

The intention is to help you begin reinforcing a different internal narrative — one that is more aligned with who you are becoming and how you want to show up.

Your Experience May Be Different From Someone Else's

There is no single way an RTT session is supposed to feel.

You may experience deep relaxation.

You may notice physical sensations, emotions, memories, images or thoughts.

You may experience a strong sense of focus.

You may feel very aware of your surroundings.

You may not experience anything dramatic at all.

All of these experiences can occur.

You do not need to “go deep enough” or have a particular kind of experience for the session to be meaningful.

Your experience is your experience.

You Remain an Active Participant

Hypnosis does not mean handing over control of your mind.

You remain involved in the process and can communicate with your practitioner.

You are not being forced to reveal something you do not want to reveal, and hypnosis is not a truth serum.

You can think, respond, question, pause and make choices throughout the session.

The work is collaborative.

The Personalised Recording

Where appropriate, your RTT session may include a personalised recording designed around the work explored during your session.

This gives you something to continue working with after the session.

The recording is not intended to replace the session itself. Rather, it can serve as a tool for reinforcing the intentional beliefs and messages identified during your work.

Your follow-through matters.

A session can create an important starting point, but meaningful change is also supported by what you practise, reinforce and choose afterwards.

After Your Session

You may leave feeling relaxed, emotional, reflective, energised, relieved or simply thoughtful.

There is no single “correct” after-session response.

Some people notice changes quickly. Others become aware of shifts gradually as they encounter familiar situations and respond differently.

You may notice:

  • A different perspective on an old situation
  • Greater awareness of a previously automatic response
  • New emotional insights
  • A shift in how you speak to yourself
  • Increased ability to pause before reacting
  • A sense that a familiar pattern no longer feels quite as powerful

These experiences vary from person to person, and an RTT session should not be understood as a guarantee of a particular outcome.

What You Can Do to Support the Work

The session is one part of the process.

You can support your progress by:

  • Listening to your personalised recording as recommended
  • Paying attention to old patterns when they arise
  • Practising the beliefs and responses you want to strengthen
  • Giving yourself space to reflect
  • Noticing progress that may initially be subtle
  • Bringing questions or challenges into follow-up support where applicable

The objective is not perfection.

It is greater awareness, greater choice and a growing ability to respond differently.

RTT Online or In Person

RTT sessions can be conducted online or in person, depending on the service and arrangements available.

The essential elements remain the same: a focused conversation, a structured therapeutic process, hypnosis where appropriate, exploration of relevant patterns and beliefs, and personalised work aligned with your goal.

You can be in a comfortable, private space at home and participate in an online session without needing to travel.

If you are attending in person, you will be guided through the same process in a private session environment.

A Session Is Not a Magic Wand

RTT is not about erasing your past or pretending that difficult experiences never happened.

It is also not a guarantee that one session will resolve every issue.

Some concerns may be appropriate for focused work in a single session, while others may benefit from additional sessions, coaching, emotional support or referral to another appropriate professional.

The right approach depends on the person, the concern and the circumstances.

The Bigger Picture

At Best Life Catalyst, RTT is not about making you into someone else.

It is about understanding what may be influencing the way you think, feel and behave — so that you can begin making more conscious choices about how you want to move forward.

Because sometimes the behaviour is not the problem.

The behaviour is the clue.

And when you understand the mind behind the behaviour, you can begin to create space for something different.

You don't have to be broken to want to heal.

Heal. Rise. Shine.

Best Life Catalyst

Understanding can be a beginning.

When you are ready to explore what this means for you, Desiree can help you choose an appropriate next step.
